
Meet Alex.
Alex Waldo is a children’s picture book writer based in Nashville, TN. She writes a diverse range of subjects for little ones, all with the goal of Making BIG topics Smaller.
Alex Waldo is in IT Application Development by day and toddler story telling by night. She received her B.A. in Rhetoric and Writing from the University of Tennessee and received a M.S. in Computing and Informatics from Lipscomb University. She resides in Nashville, TN with her two daughters, Eleanor and Ruby, and her husband, Mark. She is passionate about teaching little ones through storytelling. Alex enjoys spending time with family, friends, doing yoga, and being in the mountains.
Alex is a member of SCBWI (Midsouth and Southern Breeze) and 12x12. In 2024, She was selected for SCBWI’s From Acorn to Oak writing Intensive (summer 2024) and completed F-Flat Books Writing Rescue Lab intensive with Vicky Weber (August 2024). She is an active member in her critique groups, regular workshop attendee, and passionately dedicated to the craft of writing.
In 2025, She will be attending the At Home Author Picture Book Creators Conference (January), Andrea Brown Literary Agency Big Sur Writers Conference (February), SCBWI Virtual Winter Conference (February), and SCBWI Southern Breeze Spring Mingle (March). And that’s all…for now.
She is currently querying her 4 completed and polished manuscripts with several other WIP on the way.
